Auburn University Early Learning Center
Design a new graphic identifier and brand identity for the Auburn University Early Learning Center, a daycare and child development research center on Auburn’s campus.
The Auburn University Early Learning Center is an on-campus preschool for the children of faculty and staff that serves a dual role as a childcare center and a research center on learning in children. I was tasked with creating a new "graphic identifier" to replace the ELC's old branding.
In conversations with the client, three core words were emphasized: play, organic, and nature. Due to the center focusing on these as methods for children to learn, my solution takes an organic, playful, and friendly approach to the rebrand.
A series of three interlocking "trees," made up of primary shapes familiar to small children, overlap to form a smiling face. Colors are meant to complement Auburn University's primary orange and blue color palette. Typography is tall and condensed to mimic the verticality of the mark itself, drawing focus to the words "Early Learning Center."
